Q&A: My lithium battery cannot be charged when it doesn't have power, why and how can I do? The lithium battery will enter over- discharge protection and the voltage of it will become 0, when the power is out. At this time, it needs a charger with output voltage to wake up the battery. A lithium battery charger or a 9 amp DC can do it. But an SLA battery charger only can charge the battery that has voltage. So if you are using an SLA battery charger or no output voltage charger, the lithium battery cannot be charged.
