Terri Entler created Healers Pet Care, Inc after she learned that her German Shepard Jake's paw pads had been burned by the hot ground after a walk and there was nothing on the market that would treat Jake's paws and at the same time not stick to his wounds. Terri, an engineer, took matters into her own hands and crafted a dog boot designed specifically for healing using her sewing machine, breathable mesh material, and Velcro. By inserting non-adherent gauze pads into the boots, her invention protected Jake’s paws much more efficiently. After seeing how well they worked on her pup’s paws, Terri began to create more products that would treat Jake's and all other dogs' paws.
