During the Depression in 1932, Elmer Krueger, an Indianapolis industrial engineer, took an idea, $250 of borrowed capital and founded Paper Art Company in his basement. On May 28, 1935, the Dionne quintuplets celebrated their first birthday at a table set with Paper Art products. Paper Art soon became “a complete party supplier”, adding holiday decorations, party favors, centerpieces, masks and hats, plastic cups and flatware. Converting, Inc. enters the party goods market with special occasion tissue and plastic table covers. Over the years, acquisitions of quality companies and a merger in 2007 between Creative Expressions and Converting, Inc. partnered to form Creative Converting.
