Kidde Hardwired Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, AA Battery Backup, Interconnectable, LED Warning Light Indicators, model 900-CUAR, is an alarm combo that detects smoke & carbon monoxide gas, using a single alarm. It connects to your home's wiring (120V AC power), while 2-AA batteries (included) provide battery backup during the event of a power failure. The Kidde Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm is equipped with self-testing components that are always checking the unit to ensure the device is operating as expected. In the event of a smoke or carbon monoxide event, an 85-decibel alarm will sound & LED light warning indicators will alert you to various statuses: green indicates normal operation, amber indicates there is an operating error, and red indicates a smoke or carbon monoxide incident. The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide alarm uses photoelectric sensors that detect visible fire particles associated with slow smoldering fires, as well as an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor, which offers accurate readings of CO. The Interconnected Whole-Home Activation feature allows the alarm to connect with other compatible Kidde alarms via the hardwired 120V AC, so when one alarm sounds, they all do. The test-hush button allows testing of the alarm, while the hush button allows for temporary silence of the alarm when a nuisance, or "false" alarm sounds from events like routine cooking or shower steam. When the alarm is nearing its end of life, it will begin to chirp. Place a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector on each level of your home, in hallways, and inside each bedroom. UL Certified with a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty on the alarm. Meets requirements of UL 2034, UL217, NFPA72, NFPA 101, FHA, & HUD. Self-testing is not a substitute for a manual push test of the alarm. Perform a button test once per week to verify proper alarm operation. Alarms only connect with select Kidde alarms that have hardwired AC interconnect capability (see User Guide).
