PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) has similar characteristics as PETG and to some extent, acrylic sheets but it also has its own advantages including its high impact resistance, chemical resistance, durability, and recyclability. These PET sheets have the right thickness for many applications. This thickness makes the sheets easier to cut and bend into shape. The easiest way to cut these sheets is to score their surfaces using a utility knife. Power saws may be excessive for a 0.03-inch material but they can also cut PET sheets cleanly. If done properly, laser cutting PET sheets can result in shiny edges. Improper laser use can result in edge yellowing. Drilling and punching holes are also possible for screwing and hanging the sheets. Just make sure to use a backing when drill PET sheets (or any plastic sheets for that matter) to prevent damaging the other side. It's also possible to bond or glue PET sheets to itself, to other surfaces, or glue objects unto its surface. First, you'll need to clean and degrease the PET surface. Several types of adhesives that can be used include structural acrylic adhesives (for untreated PET) and cyanoacrylate adhesives (used with adhesive primer).
