Description:
Glassic Gifts 7" Tall Galileo Thermometer (64?F - 80?F Range) What is a Galileo Thermometer and how do I read it? A Galileo Thermometer is a sealed glass vessel filled will glass orbs that are suspended in liquid. As the temperature of the liquid changes, the orbs will rise and fall within the vessel to display the current temperature within the thermometers range. Under normal conditions, the orbs will separate into two groupings. To read the thermometer, you must observe the lowest orb within the top group. The temperature imprinted on the tag of that lower orb will be the current temperature of the liquid (within 2?F accuracy). If all of the orbs are at the bottom, the liquid is hotter than the maximum temperature and if all the orbs are the top, it is hotter. Glassic Gifts is one of America's premier manufacturer of Galileo Thermometers. We are family owned and located in New Jersey, just outside of Manhattan. With over 20 years manufacturing experience and more than a dozen different models, we stand behind every Galileo Thermometer we sell. Because of the nature of these delicate instrument and how abusive with packages shipping carriers can be, please understand that shipping damage can occur that may not be visible to the eye. If for some reason your thermometer does not perform as desired, contact us directly so we can resolve your issue immediately. If your Amazon return period has expired, simply contact us directly and we will make sure to take care of you regardless of the time that has elapsed! Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642) was an Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher who played a major role in the Scientific Revolution. His discovery that the density of a liquid changes in proportion to its temperature, inspired the invention and explains the accuracy of the "Galileo Thermometer".
