Description:
Package contains 5 grams, approximately 3,300 Danvers 126 Half-Long Carrot Seeds. Germination: 12 to 18 days at 55 - 70 F. Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep and 2 inches between plants with 18 inches between rows. Danvers 126 Carrots are great for storing. This bright orange carrot variety is able to grow in clay or rocky soil, and doesn’t need as much space to grow as other carrots. This makes Danvers 126 carrots ideal for more shallow gardens or areas with poorer soil conditions. Danvers 126 carrots are very sweet and nutritious. Nearly- coreless carrots grow about 7” long and have a blunt end. Planting, Growing, and Harvesting: Carrots are a cool-weather crop that can make a wonderful addition to your garden. Plant carrot seeds directly into tilled soil in a sunny spot. The soil should be well-drained with plenty of organic matter. Carrots may be a little tricky when it comes to harvesting, since they grow underground and can’t be seen until you actually pull them up. Check by feeling the top of the carrot through the soil to get an idea of the diameter, then carefully pull if it is as large as you like. You may want to loosen the soil around the carrot before attempting to pull it out to make the task easier. Carrots store well and can be used in all kinds of recipes.
