This self-powered feature makes it easy to take on the go without worrying about finding a power source. The seat is adjustable and suited for 80lbs-275lbs. Please note - The power adapter plugs in to the base of the unit by the motor, not the side opposite the remote. Be sure to look for the AC Adapter's "pin" in the hole.
