Known from a skull and neck vertebrae, the Tsaagan was originally confused for a Velociraptor, but its skull shows differences in shape and form such as being more robust and smooth on top. Tsaagan is a more primitive cousin of later dromeaosaurs such as velociraptor and also lived in desert environments in Mongolia and northern China.
