Thus, he crafted a ginger elixir, a liquid essence of ginger, and christened it ginger beer. The brainchild of Jack Morgan, owner of the renowned Cock'n Bull Restaurant in Hollywood, this ginger beer filled the void in the American market. In the 1940s, during a serendipitous encounter between Morgan and John G. Martin of Heu-blein, a prominent spirits distributor, the Moscow Mule was born. Combining Morgan's Cock'n Bull Ginger Beer with Martin's newly acquired Smirnoff Vodka, they concocted the classic Moscow Mule, a drink named for vodka's Russian origins and the fiery kick of Cock'n Bull Ginger Beer.
