53' EVANS BOX CAR with END OF TRAIN DEVICE - ATSF 504007 - Large "G" Scale. Add a new level of authenticity to your modern Large Scale freight consists with the 53’ Evans Box Car with End of Train Device. This detailed current-day boxcar has been outfitted with our track-powered LED End of Train Device to provide realistic, flashing rear-of-train protection, just as you would see on actual modern freight consists. In the late 1980s, the classic railroad caboose was largely displaced by the implementation of flashing "End of Train" or "EOT" devices, also known as "FREDs" or "ETDs." On prototype trains, the device autonomously monitors brake line pressure and is capable of sending train data to the locomotive, while also providing a blinking warning light to alert any following trains to the presence of the train in front. Our 53’ Evans Boxcar with operating flashing "End of Train" device allows you to replicate this essential modern component on your Large Scale freight consists. The Flashing Rear End Device is factory installed, operates on both DC and DCC layouts, and gives your train a modern finishing touch. Features include: highly detailed painted bodies with precision graphics, metal wheel, operating End of Train Device which works on track power or battery (not included), 1:29 scale.
